Couldn’t sleep tonight, so I spent some time polishing my current project and making everything run a little smoother. I’m feeling good right now. Walking is slowly getting easier, and for the first time in a long while, things feel like they’re moving in the right direction. Coding still brings me so much joy, and I’m grateful every day that I can do it again after the coma and the long stretch where I couldn’t. That period was the darkest I’ve ever felt, not being able to do the thing I love most. But tonight, I’m here, I’m coding, and I’m moving forward.

Over the last couple of years I have focused heavily on creating software that turns audio and visual data into art. ACMX2 has become one of my main projects. It is a system I built that takes camera input, video files, images, and sound, and transforms them into living visuals through shaders and real time effects. It is part tool, part canvas, and part experiment, and it has pushed me creatively and technically in ways nothing else has. You can find it on the main site: ACMX2

My name is Jared Bruni. I have always loved to write code and build things from nothing. Creating programs, shaders, games, and tools has been the one constant in my life and the place where my mind feels clear and focused.
A few years ago I went through something that changed everything. Lithium toxicity put me in a coma and left me having to relearn how to walk and how to speak. Recovery has been slow and difficult. My legs do not always do what I want and I have to focus on every step, but I am still moving forward. My mind has finally started to feel sharp again and I am coming out the other side stronger than before.
I am stepping back from most social media because it has never felt like a place where I can really express myself. Instead I am creating my own space to write down my thoughts, track my ideas, and document the projects I build. This page is where I will put my work, my progress, and the things I learn along the way.
