Acid Cam is an application that turns your webcam or video files into an interactive work of art. Version 2 is a complete rewrite. It is now available on Mac OS X (64-bit Intel). It now writes to a video file on the fly, so there is no more waiting for the video to process. It contains new filters, old filters and the ability to select a video file instead of a live camera. The video file is saved to the location specified in the save prefix. The new version contains an option to select what output file type (MOV or AVI) and a custom filter where you can apply more than one filter each frame. As of version 2.0.20 you can now design your own filters with C++. Check the Plugins folder in the DMG image file for instructions on how to do this.

The purpose of Acid Cam is to show people that things that they experience as reality around them are subjective. It can be bent into alternate perspectives because your reality is just interpreted. You are not what is around you; you are what you think is around you and the experience is an illusion. So be creative and allow your mind to think freely.

New in version 2.0.18 rewrote the way the program manipulates the video. Now it runs much faster and takes much less time to process a video file. Also now contains experimental code to capture audio which is saved in its own file. I use Final Cut to splice the two together but in future versions I want the program to do this.

Supported Video File Types: mov, avi, mkv, mp4, m4v
